Carol A. (Battyanyi) Zellefrow

SHARON-Carol A. Zellefrow 73, passed away peacefully at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh on Thursday morning December 22, 2016 following a brief illness.

She was born in Sharon on March 17, 1943 the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Klein) Battyanyi Sr.  Carol attended Farrell schools and had worked as nurse’s aid for several years.

Carol enjoyed sewing, flower gardening but above all was devoted to spending time with her beloved family.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Leonard Derr of Sharon and William Hackett of Gilbert, SC; her brother Joseph Battyanyi Jr. and his wife Barbara of Transfer, PA; and by her nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and by her former husband Wendell Zellefrow.

Friends may call on Monday evening December26, 2016 from 4-7:00 PM at the Sample- O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA.  

Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM at the St. Rose Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday morning with Rev. David Williamson, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery.
