Ruth J. Headings

Mrs. Ruth J. Headings 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon December 26, 2017 at Clepper Manor following a period brief illness. 

Ruth was born on April 22, 1931 in Sharon to Leonard and Rose (Hanneman) Mueller.  She was a graduate of Sharon High School and would go on to marry Robert P. Headings on May 9, 1952. 

She had worked as a secretary for the Salvation Army in Sharon for more than sixty years prior to her retirement in 2009.

Mrs. Headings was a longtime member of Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene for more than seventy years. She had taught Sunday School for many years, served as the church pianist for over fifty years, and had also been a member of the church board and served as treasurer. Ruth also always enjoyed the vegetable gardens and plantings around her home which her husband and son planted. 

She is survived by her sons Robert P. Headings Jr. and Mark A. Headings both of Sharon, PA; her sister-in-law Ruth Headings; her niece Sharon Hanson and her husband Lee as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her son Timothy L. Headings, and her sister Elsie McDaniel.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday January 5, 2018 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene 3480 Shenango Valley Fwy, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Funeral services will be on Saturday morning beginning at 11:00AM at the church officiated by Rev. Dan Hanson. Friends may also visit one hour prior to the start of the services.

Burial will be at America’s Cemetery in Hermitage.
