Shirley J. Leedham

Shirley J. Leedham passed away peacefully on Thursday morning October 12, 2017 at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, PA following a period of declining health.  She was ninety years old.

Shirley was born in Sharon on April 6, 1927 the daughter of Raphael and Lily Mae (Hassell) Lynch and was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.  On July 11, 1947 Shirley married Thomas R. Leedham Sr. with whom she would share nearly fifty-years of marriage and their children Tom and Sheryl.

Mrs. Leedham had worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Sharon, Fitzpartick’s Department Store and later Witmer Smith.  She loved sewing and an avid collector of many types of knickknacks.         

She leaves behind her son Thomas R. Leedham Jr. and his companion Kathy Andree of Sharon; her daughter Sheryl Bagnall and her husband William of Millersville, PA; three grandchildren Ryan Leedham and his wife Sandra of Hermitage, Sheena Leedham of London, OH, Brian Bagnall of Millersville, PA; three great-grandchildren Ryan, Jorge, and Jonathan Leedham; and by family friends Gary and Tracy Swogger.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Tom on January 22, 1997, and by her brother Harold Lynch.

Private funeral arrangements were handled by the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA 16146.  Burial has taken place next her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.
