Susan M. (Melnik) Rankin

Susan M. Rankin, of Hermitage, PA passed away on Sunday April 8, 2018 in Leesburg, VA following an extended illness. She was 70 years old.

She was born in Sharon on June 8, 1947 the daughter of the late Michael and Susan (Renshaw) Melnik.  Sue was a graduate of Sharon High School and also Westminster where she received her degree in Education specializing in fine art.  She would teach elementary school in Hermitage for several years before becoming a stay at home mom to her family. 

Sue had been a distributor with the Shaklee Corporation for thirty-seven years and had been very involved with the company through different events.

Her memories will live on through with her husband of nearly fifty years Errol R. Rankin whom she married on June 7, 1969; her son Christopher Rankin of Purcellville, VA; her dogson Rascal and granddog Nugget; her sister-in-law Kathleen Fitzgerald of Seattle, WA; and by several cousins.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother Edward Matchak.

A Pascal Funeral Divine Liturgy, with Rev. Kevin E. Marks officiating will be held at 11:00AM on Friday April 13, 2018 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage, PA preceded by a Panachida Service to be recited at 10:15 AM in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.

Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
