Doris L. Wagner of Sharon passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Shepherd of the Valley in Liberty, Ohio. She was ninety-two years old.
She was born on June 26, 1931 in West Franklin, PA and was the daughter of Wade and Vera (Gaiser) Claypoole. Doris graduated from Worthington High School in 1949 and went on to marry Paul L. Wagner on September 20, 1950. Together they made their home in Sharon with their children David, Russell, and Linda.
Doris was a homemaker and will always be remembered as a devoted mom, grandma, great-grandma, and sister to her family. She was a longtime member of the Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church where she had served on many committees throughout the years. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafts, sewing, taking long walks, gardening, and helping to care for elderly neighbors and friends.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memories, her children David L. Wagner of Sharpsville, Russell L. Wagner and his wife Karen of Nazareth, PA, and Linda L. Pitts of Meadville; grandchildren Craig L. Wagner, Robert L. Wagner, Erin L. Mayerchak, and Andrew L. Pitts; six great-grandchildren; and her sister Shirley Higginson of Worthington, PA.
Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than fifty years, Paul; along with five sisters - Bernice Williams, Maxine Claypoole, Dorothy Claypoole, Jean Bowser, and Freda Peechatka, and two brothers - Wade Claypoole Jr., and Don Claypoole.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday March 9, 2024 at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 555 East State St. Sharon, Pennsylvania with the Rev. Kelley Schanely officiating. Friends may visit with her family beginning at 10:00AM until the start of the service in the funeral home.
A private burial will take place next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.
