NEW WILMINGTON – Nancy Fahnline Warren, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 95 in her residence at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania on Friday December 19, 2025. Since 2011 she resided there and was an active volunteer and treasurer of the resident’s association.

Nan was born in Sharon, PA on 29 July 1930, the daughter of John Fahnline Jr. and Helene Stewart Fahnline. She traveled extensively throughout the world. In 1932 at the age of just eighteen months she and her parents took a cruise around the world. At that time, she was the youngest American baby to cruise the world.

She was an alumnus of Sharon High School 1948 and of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland 1952.

Nancy and James Forsythe Warren married on 1 February 1964. He passed away on 12 January 2010.

Nan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon, where she served as a Deacon. She had previously been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Washington, PA where she had served as an officer and volunteer.

Nan was an active member of the National Society Daughter of the American Revolution. Her memberships included the Pymatuning Chapter where she served as Treasurer and the Valley Forge Chapter where she served two terms as Regent. She served at the state level as the State Corresponding Secretary and the chair of various state committees. At the national level, she was Chair of the Tellers Committee for two administrations. She served thirty years on the national committee, as National Vice Chair of Constitution Week Committee, Bicentennial of Constitution Committee, Vice Chair of DAR Patriot Index Committee, Advisor to the DAR Insignia Committee, President of the Philadelphia Regents’ Club, President of the North West District Regents’ Club Pennsylvania State Society DAR. In addition, Nan was a member of Penn’s Grant Chapter of the Colonial Dames CXVII of America and The College Club of Sharon.

Nan was a Life Member of the following historical societies: Historical Society of Fort Washington, PA, Montgomery County Historical Society, Mercer County Historical Society, Hermitage and Sharon Historical Societies. In 2010, she and her husband were honored with the Historical Society of Fort Washington Heritage Award for service to the organization.

Devoted to Westie dogs, Nan had nine Westies over thirty years. She was a member of the William Penn West Highland Terrier Club where she held various offices, and a twenty-five-year member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America.

Surviving are her brother Donald E. Fahnline of Altoona, PA, niece Kathryn A. Fahnline McGuiness, nephews John B. Fahnline, Richard A. Fahnline, and D. Edward Fahnline; grandnieces Mariel and Liesel McGuiness, Madelyn, Anjali, Maya, and Jyoti Fahnline, grandnephew Camden Fahnline; step-granddaughters Colleen Farmer Polk and Sandra Farmer Reyher.

Preceding Nan in death were her brothers Richard H. Fahnline and George R. Fahnline, stepdaughter Barbara Warren Farmer, sisters in-law Elizabeth Anne Fahnline and Ann Hoffman Fahnline.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday January 5, 2026, in the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon. A reception will follow the service.

A private burial will take place at the Fahnline Family plot at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon.
