Obituary

HERMITAGE-Norman Leroy Keller, age 81, passed away on August 4, 2026, in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Born on April 26, 1945, in Hermitage to Ernest Keller and Ethel Sonk Keller, Norman grew up working on his family's poultry farm. As a young man, he answered the call to serve his country, proudly enlisting in the United States Army. He served as a Private First Class during the Vietnam War in 1967. While serving, he was wounded in action and sustained injuries that remained with him throughout his life. In recognition of his courage, sacrifice, and faithful service, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Following his honorable discharge, Norman lived with service-connected disabilities, facing life's challenges with quiet strength and resilience. Though he never married and had no children, he remained deeply connected to his family and treasured those lifelong relationships.

Norman is survived by his sister, Donna Keller Race and her husband, Lester Race; his four nieces, Leslie Keller King, Sharon Race Stone, Patricia Race Brammell, and Darlene Race Bolena Skrabak; and his grandnephew, Tim Cantrall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ethel Keller; his brothers, Edwin Keller and Dale Keller, his niece, Kelly Keller Braaksma; and his nephew, Douglas Keller.

Norman's life stands as a testament to quiet courage, selfless service, and enduring sacrifice. He will be laid to rest with military honors in grateful recognition of his faithful service to the United States and the freedoms he helped defend.
