Richard P. Radu

MASURY - Richard P. Radu age 87, of Masury, OH passed away on the morning of Saturday May 10th, 2025 in Addison Healthcare Center.

He was born in Sharon, PA on February 10, 1938, to Tran and Rose (Hartsky) Radu. Following his graduation from Brookfield High School in 1956, he attended Youngstown State University and Kent State University.

He joined the United States Army in 1960 and served as Dental Assistant during the Vietnam War. His decorations include the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Carbine Badge. He received his honorable discharge 1963 having attained the rank of Specialist.

Dick was employed at the former Westinghouse where he had been a paymaster. For a brief period, he was employed by JC Penny in Hermitage before concluding his working career for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections half-way house in Sharon prior to his retirement.

He leaves behind his brother Gary Radu and his wife Willie of Masury, and their children Kristen Radu of Columbus, OH, Jeremy Radu of San Diego, California, and Janine Mitchell and her husband Dakota of McChord Air Force Base, Washington; and by his great-nieces and great-nephews Ella Darrell, Collin Mitchell, William Mitchell, and Millie Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tran and Rose.

A private burial will take place with his parents at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hermitage. Arrangements are being handled by the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA.
