HERMITAGE - Richard E. Cheney, of Hermitage, PA passed away following a lengthy illness on April 25, 2025. He was 68.
Rich was born in Sharon, PA on August 20, 1956, to Joe and Virginia (Miller) Cheney. Following his graduation from West Middlesex High School in 1976 he served in the Army National Guard for 20 years before receiving his honorable discharge in 1996 having attained the rank of Sergeant.
He drove semi-truck for almost 30 years and had most recently enjoyed driving tour bus for Anderson Coach and Travel. Taking in the many sights over the road and meeting new friends along the way. Rich was a member of Kedron Lodge #389 of West Middlesex. He also enjoyed hunting and attending gun shows. Scratch-Off Lottery tickets were a favorite past time. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rich married the former Tracey L. Radu on January 1, 1993, she survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Rich is survived by his children Tyler Cheney and Aurelia (Adam) Prather, and grandchildren Dakota and Jameson Prather. His brothers, Wallace (Linda), Harold (Michaelene), Ronald (Sandra), Larry (Cathy), Robert, and Dean (Kim). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Richard C. Cheney.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life at Grace Chapel Community Church, 4075 Lamor Rd., Hermitage, PA, on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home at 555 East State Street in Sharon, PA.
