Obituary

WHEATLAND-Robert E. Taylor passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 6th, 2026.

He was born on September 10, 1941, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania the son of Ernest and Annabel (Haney) Taylor and was a graduate of Farrell High School Clas of 1959. Following his graduation, he joined the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged in 1961.

Bob was employed with the former Sharon Steel Corp. in Farrell PA until his retirement.

He will be remembered for the many years he spent coaching Farrell-Wheatland Little League and Farrell Senior Division baseball. He enjoyed attending his yearly family Taylor reunions, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle and attending concerts at Buhl Farm Park. 

He was an active member of New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

Bob shared many years and raised a family with Elaine R. (Myers) Taylor. He has four children: Michele (Paul) Vernille, Robin (Landy) Peluso, Dawn (Phil) Niesen and Robert (Elisa) Taylor; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Later in life he married Judith Stritzinger and remained married to her until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine R. (Myers) Taylor, parents Ernest and Annabel Taylor, brother James A H Taylor, sister Judith T. Lewis and grandson Dillon J. Peluso.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 3:30PM in the Sample-O'Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, Pennsylvania. Friends may visit with his family beginning at 2:00PM until the start of the service.
