HOMER GLEN, IL – Mrs. Shirley J. Troutman formerly of Sharpsville, passed away on Sunday evening July 9, 2017 following a brief battle with Leukemia at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was eighty-one years old.
Born in Erie, PA on January 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Olive L. (Byers) Murray. She attended Clarion High School and went on to marry her sweetheart Charles F. Troutman on June, 20, 1959.
She was a longtime resident of Sharpsville, before her retirement from JC Penney’s with twenty-one years of service. During retirement Shirley and her husband spent many years between Seneca, Illinois and Leesburg, Florida. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, and above all cooking for those she loved.
Shirley leaves behind her devoted husband of fifty-eight years Charles; her son Fred (Lynn) Troutman of Homer Glen, IL; her daughter Kimberly (Sue) Bennett-Troutman; grandchildren Murray and Elliette Bennett-Troutman; brother Edward Murray; sisters Louise Holman and Betty Jean Confer and her husband Dean; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, her parents Ralph and Olive, brothers Carl and Robert Murray, grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Guy Murray and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Byers; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday evening July 14, 2017 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Sample-O’Donnell Funeral Home 555 East State Street Sharon, PA 16146.
Private funeral services will be held for her family on Saturday morning July 15, 2017 at the funeral home
Interment will follow at Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage.
